Latest News: Group Stage Halfway Point! 24/12/2003 The score for the middle matches in the champions league groups stages have come in and there seems to be a rend forming across all groups with one team dominating and the rest fighting for the second spot. All this should make it an interesting final week with most teams still involved. Tightening up! 5/12/2003 Berts Bruisers losing grip at the top there? Seems like the large gap is slowly being eaten away. On top of that its champions league time. This weekend will decide who gets into the group stage and what the groups will be. So good luck peeps. Champions League and Genral Update! 28/11/2003 Well there hasnt been much action on the website front but i though i'd better get things moving again especially with the champions league matches almost here. The week after next (week 15) the champions league qualifyers will be taking place. This does involve the majority of teams. Firstly the bottom four teams will be battling it out to see which two teams qualify. Secondly, the qualifyers will then be split in table order into four sections and then a team from each of the four will be randomly picked to make the four groups needed. Week ten saw the final of the Sultan Brando League Cup. It was a hard fought match between beat-the-meat and Jimmys Gypos, on a low scoring weekend. Chris Skidmore manager of beat-the-meat made just under three more points than James Dilcock manager of Jimmys Gypos to claim the 2003/2004 Sultan Brando League Cup and the first major trophy of the season. Over the next three weeks all the teams will be focusing on the league before the qualifying stages of the Champions League. SBL Cup semi final results 24/10/2003 Havnt had much time this week thats why the update is late but the semi final matches have been decided and the final is drawn. Jimmys gypos, narrowly defeating oceans eleven and beat-the-meat with a convincing win. So there it is jimmy's gypos V beat-the-meat for the first major cup of the season. gl. SBL Cup Round 2 Results/Semi Final Draws!!! 08/10/2003 The results of the SBL Cup quater finals and the draws for the semi final have both been posted. After all maccas ranting he's crashed out and so have I :( It would also seem that for the semi finals one match is a mid table draw and the other is a top of the table draw so the competition remains close. SBL Cup Round 2!!! 01/10/2003 The result of round one have been collected and the second round fixtures have now been posted. Talk about bad luck, the three cornered rug getting the lowest score ever in the league last week to knock them out the cup and then scoring one of the highest this week. Shocks of the first round see Berts Bruisers exit the cup at the first hurdle, better luck next time rob. For more details go to the league cup section! More Newcastle Woes??!!! 01/10/2003 From what i've been told, newcastle players look to be the ones that were involved with the rape aligations on the weekend. This si only rumour of course and probably false but you never know and it wouldnt suprise me having players like Woodgate, Dyer etc in the squad. Watch out on friday coz that the day the shit hits the fan supposedly. SBL Cup Round 1!!! 24/09/2003 The fixtures for the SBL Cup Round 1 are now up. Some interesting tie's although the tie between berts bruisers and Jimmy's Gypos is the biggest of the round with 1st place taking on 3rd. SBL Cup Qualifyers!!! 21/09/2003 Were now entering week 6, which is the qualifying week for the SBL Cup. Hopefully we will have the results for week 6 in by tomorrow so we should know who will go through out of The Three Cornered Rug, When is the rugby on?, East Cleveland Inbreds and Fluctuating Penguin Migration.
